Tourism Services in Klemtu
In addition to organized tours, Klemtu has many tourism services
available for tour guests and individual travellers. Services
in Klemtu include a café, accommodation, camping, boat
moorage, marine fuel, propane, 2 general stores, post office,
bank interact machine, and shower and laundry facilities. The
tourism office in Klemtu also offers visitors information, kayak

Information Office
The Klemtu Tourism office offers valuable information for visitors
including available services and accommodation, and information
for travelling in the area including visitor’s code of ethics
and minimum impact guidelines for travellers. The tourism office
can also organize sea kayak rentals, boat transportation and charters
and guided tours.
Sea
Kayak Rentals, Outfitting and Transportation
The Kitasoo/Xaixais Territory is a magnificent sea kayaking destination
with the many inlets and coves, beautiful sandy beaches, and protected
waters. The paddler will have ample opportunities to interact
with the abundant wildlife like whales and other marine mammals
and the many species of birds. A perfect sea kayaking area without
the crowds that are often associated with some of the other sea
kayaking areas. Klemtu Tourism offers kayak rentals available
for a three-hour afternoon exploratory paddle or up to a two-week
expedition. Our kayaks are high quality Current Designs ®
composite and rotomolded boats. We can also outfit groups with
most camping equipment including Thermarests ® and Sierra
Designs ® tents. Kayak transportation is also available to
access any area in the Kitasoo Traditional Territory. Contact

offer guided kayak tours to the Westcoast of Swindle and Princess
Royal Islands as well as custom sea kayak tours for any area and

Sea
kayak rental rates include all required kayak and safety equipment
including paddles, spare paddle, pump, paddle float, throw line,
life jacket, spray skirt. Dry bags and limited camping equipment

Accommodation
Floathouse Inn
Floating accommodation at the Klemtu dock in the centre of the
Village. The Floathouse has 3 bedrooms, each with 2 single beds,
one 3-piece bathroom, with bath/shower, one kitchen facility,
two sitting rooms and a television. It is newly renovated throughout.
The floathouse can be rented on its own or we offer Bed and Breakfast
packages with breakfast provided by the Kitasoo Cafe. Packaged
tours are also available. Price: $50.00 per night, per person

Coastal
Cabin Rentals
Klemtu Tourism will have a few beautiful, traditional style cabins
available for rent for the 2003 season as part of its Coastal
Hut program. These cabins are situated in different areas of the
territory, which provide great opportunities for wildlife and
cultural exploration, and sea kayaking. Cabins can accommodate
up to twelve people in bunk style accommodation. The cabins will
be outfitted with wood stoves for heating and propane stoves for
cooking. The cabins will rent for $25.00person per night. Contact

Boat
Moorage
Klemtu has a new mooring dock available for pleasure and charter
boats. The dock is located in close proximity to other tourism
services in Klemtu including the tourism/info office, showers
and laundry, café, general store, fuel dock and kayak rentals.
Moorage rate $0.40/foot.
Camping
Klemtu does not have a designated camping area at this time. However
there are many sites available for camping in Klemtu and the surrounding
area. All services are in close proximity to camping sites including
laundry and showers. Contact us for more information on camping

Fuel
First Nations Fuel in Klemtu offers Marine gas and diesel as well
as propane and water. The fuel dock is located at the north end
of the Klemtu village next to the fish processing plant.
Stores
Klemtu has 2 general stores, which have a reasonable stock of
food and supplies. The Band operated store is at the north end
of the Klemtu village next to the fish processing plant. The other
store is privately owned and is located is the south end of the
Klemtu village near the Church.
Attractions
There are several attractions in Klemtu including the new Big
House (on guided tours only), the water tower lookout, the trail
to the lake, and the many village interpretive signs.
